Wisepath is a behavioral skills intelligence platform that measures human talent by analyzing gameplay data from mainstream, commercial video games. Powered by its proprietary SkillQuest™ technology, Wisepath connects to a user's Steam account, observes how they think, decide, and act while playing, and translates that behavior into structured behavioral skills profiles, without a single questionnaire.

What is behavioral skills intelligence?

Behavioral skills intelligence is the measurement of how a person actually behaves - how they respond to challenges, uncertainty, and change - rather than how they describe themselves. Traditional assessments rely on self-report questionnaires, asking people to rate their own creativity, resilience, or judgment. Wisepath takes a different approach: it observes behavior directly, as it happens, inside the natural decision-making environment of a video game.

How SkillQuest™ turns gameplay into behavioral data

Wisepath's process follows four steps:

  1. Select the video games. Organizations or individuals choose which behavioral skills they want to measure, then select from a list of supported commercial titles designed to activate those skills.
  2. Connect Steam and play. Users connect an existing Steam account (or create a free one) and play the selected games. No special hardware or Wisepath-built game is required — these are mainstream titles available to any player.
  3. Generate profiles. SkillQuest™ analyzes the resulting gameplay data and begins generating behavioral skills charts and maps after just a few hours of play.
  4. Review and apply. Individuals, HR teams, or educators review the resulting profiles to inform hiring, development, coaching, or career-guidance decisions.

Initial, reliable insights typically emerge after 2–3 hours of gameplay; more extended play (around 6–8 hours per game) produces deeper, more precise behavioral profiling.

What behavioral skills does Wisepath measure?

SkillQuest™ maps behavioral skills across four categories:

Icon representing Cognitive Skills, including cognitive flexibility and creativity

Cognitive Skills: such as Cognitive Flexibility and Creativity, measured by how someone adapts to new situations and responds to the unexpected.

Icon representing Process Skills, including critical thinking

Process Skills: such as Critical Thinking, measured by how someone evaluates information, weighs bias, and makes choices.

Icon representing Cross-Functional Skills, including complex problem solving

Cross-Functional Skills: such as Complex Problem Solving, measured through decision quality and problem-solving tendencies in complex situations.

Icon representing Emotional Skills, including self-confidence and stress management

Emotional Skills: such as Self-Confidence and Stress Management, measured by how someone takes risks, trusts their own judgment, and manages uncertainty.

These behavioral skills are the product of years of research into the connection between gameplay and decision-making behavior, and are designed to be relevant to real professional and academic contexts. not just gaming performance.

Is my Steam data private?

Wisepath follows strict security protocols and applicable data protection regulations. The only information retrieved from a connected Steam account is achievements earned and total gameplay time per game. No other personal data or account information is accessed.

Why measure behavior instead of asking about it?

Self-report questionnaires ask people to describe their own behavioral skills, a method vulnerable to social desirability bias, inconsistent self-awareness, and simple guesswork about what the "right" answer looks like.

Because Wisepath observes real decisions made under real (if low-stakes) pressure, inside games people already know how to play, it captures behavior as it actually occurs rather than as it's self-reported after the fact.
